Born in eastern North Carolina, Captain Gene Maready has always had a love of fishing. An avid fisherman for over 40 years, he has fished both inshore and offshore. After serving the State of NC for 30 years as a law enforcement officer, 17 of those years in this area as a Marine Patrol officer for the NC Division of Marine Fisheries, Captain Maready retired. Sawgrass Guide Service began as a dream to continue to work on the waters he has come to know and love. Captain Maready and wife raised two children in Columbia, NC and wants to help your family to make lasting memories by fishing and enjoying our beautiful coastal waters.
